    Randy's Silver Gray powder

On a whim I got a couple of pounds of the dark silver gray that forum member Randy Rat has for sale. Walter Laich tested it and I just liked the look.
It came in today so I had to coat a batch to try it out, everything is set up for my 155Gr Noe PC Boolit so it didn't take long to whip up 20 coated missiles.
went on easily with the BBDT method and 25 Min at 375Deg.
coats nice and is a bit thick. Passes the scratch test and the hammer smash test with flying colors.
Loaded up 5 for my ladder test with 4227.

I don't know how they shot, but the silver powder lays down super nice when it's cooked.
I thought I had it all screwed up but it melted real nice and made me look good.

The Silver is for Vampires, just in case you didn't know. I'm guessing the Green is for Zombies, Blue would be Aliens from outer space.
    Thanks for the feed back!

Just tried mine out just a few minutes ago. This powder has got to be something like super duper fine, there were no thin spots at all and a person would have a real hard time distinguishing that boolit from a factory loaded bullet. Sure the person that's coating those things knows, but the ordinary person wouldn't give it a second look.

Has anyone taken measurements before and after? To see how thick the baked coat is.

I get about .001 per side.
I made and measured a bunch at 357-3575 then coated and was in the 359 area, a slight amount of lube here and there and sized them back down to 358.
I made sure to try and not have any clumps or try to lay it on thick.

Put them in a container with a dab of LLA and JPW, swish them around, let them dry, shoot them like tumble-lubed bullets.

Maybe warm them to 100* before tumbling.

The bullets have a thin slick coating all over the exterior. It's like the powder just does not want to stick. I started out tumbling in a #5 container and couldn't get the powder to stick after swirling for several minutes.
Then I tried the tumbler for 25 minutes without much luck. The powder I'm using is the bright silver. Is anyone else having success with the bright silver powder?

I'm wondering if its his climate, something like the high humidity or something of that nature. When I use the powder I get from randyrat mine come out like little grey jewels. It went on so well that I ordered a bunch more, of course it'll take me a long time to use the quantity I'm getting but at least I have it.

I think the tumbler was too much.
I use a cup and air soft BB's.
I don't shake too long [maybe 20 -30 seconds] just enough to see the powder clinging to the boolits.
then dump everything in a little metal pan with holes drilled in it to let the bb's out.
the powder looks like it is on there pretty thin.

I put the boolits in and heat the oven.
I wait for the powder to go wet looking [about 350-375] then I turn on the timer to 22 minutes and wait.
the temp climbs up to @400 and hangs out there for about 12-15 minutes.

I tried tumbling in a #5 container with air soft bb's first before using the tumbler.
