    C&R license

Gentlemen I'm looking to finally get my C&R license getting it seems easy enough fill out paperwork, send $$, and wait. Only problem is I'm active duty Army and am prone to being moved if I come down on orders to a different state/assignment. So how does it work if I get assigned to a different duty station would I have to notify the ATF of my address change? Anything else I should be concerned about? Thanks guys.

Everytime you change address you have to apply for a change of address.

I got mine last year and am active duty Navy. It only took about 3 weeks to get and was easy. I just wish I had done it years ago before all the good milsurp deals dried up.
    Keep moving forward!

I believe you need an actual address, PO box or barracks address may not qualify. Other than that you should be golden until you go overseas, then I know nothing about how that works. I'm sure they have a program, it is worth asking if you are likely to be deployed.

I would ask the BATF about this. Keep in mind, whenever you are moved, you must contact local law enforcement, and let them know there is a license holder in their county.
The solid soft lead bullet is undoubtably the best and most satisfactory expanding bullet that has ever been designed. It invariably mushrooms perfectly, and never breaks up. With the metal base that is essential for velocities of 2000 f.s. and upwards to protect the naked base, these metal-based soft lead bullets are splendid.

BATFE has a very good Q&A section on their site that is well worth the time to read. Brownells the log books, think Midway does as well. Just went thru the process, very easy.

At 75 would a C&R be a benefit to me? I considered it for years but never acted. I usually buy 1-2 guns a year, cast and reload much less. I already have about all the older military guns I desire.
Question is, how would I still make use of it.

Most of the supply house that you could get reloading stuff offered a 10-20% discount. Not anymore.

Depends on the guns you buy. If you love old guns then yes, many of them are on the C&R list. If you buy new, no, no help.

So to add to the initial question: After you buy a gun from where ever, and you now have it in your possession, do you have to do a transfer to yourself? Or is your book the only record of it after it is sent to you from whoever you bought it from?

You may, like I do, have a mailing and a physical address listed on the 03.

as long as the gun is a C&R , you log it into your book and thats it.

Be aware that in some states, you will need to not only log the purchase into your log book, but report the acquisition to the state for registration purchases. The People's Republik of Kalifornistan is one such state.

Graf's discount question ? Didn't they change their policy where you Had to buy at least, like $2500 a year to quilfy ?? I stoped buying from them because of a C&R change.
Brownells still good to go as of my last year order I placed.
Midway, Midsouth, powder valley no c&r discount.

    Good luck with your decision,

    Mike
