    Discontinued BSS Carbide Die Sets

I'm not sure how much work the die had done, but it looked to be in good condition. Could be a way to avoid post-press-fit lapping to final diameter of the carbide 'insert', if limited to low pressure and careful handling?

I guess Larry decided to have a go at some stage, but decided to stick with steel. If I get some more details/history and images of the die, I'll post a new thread.
So here is a picture(courtesy of my swaging mentor) of Larry's carbide die attempts.

Flat base core seater and point form carbide dies sets in 224, 243 & 308. The 224 & 243 cal point form die is designed for a 0.055" ejection pin & the 308 is designed for a 0.062" ejection pin. Chipping with any carbide die insert is going to be a problem, but you'll probably only see it on an exposed end or X-ray.

Larry makes a quality product, no doubt.
