I bought one at an auction some years back. It was set up for .38 special w/c and used very little. I could not get it to prime reliably even after getting new parts from RCBS. I sent it down the road and was glad to see it gone. It MIGHT seat large primers better but I wouldn't count on it.

Run away! Fast!!!
I have found it works pretty well if you prime your cases as a separate step. Mine is 38/357 works good once you get it dialed in, but it will try your patients getting it set. I can supply a copy of the book if your's doesn't come with one. You either like them or hate them, I pulled mine out of a friends trash can. He said I was welcome to the %#$@! boat anchor. I have loaded many thousands of .38 wadcutters with it with very little in the way of hassles.

I had one brand new when they came out. .38 Spl. The primer feed is the biggest issue. A caliber conversion would be challenging me thinks.
Most look like new for a reason.

How does it handle multiple Headstamp brass. ?

I have the 38/357 version. As said, I would prime the cases in a seperate step. Didn't take too long to wear on the primer setup and it quit. I wouldn't use ball powders with it, as if you lose some powder, it gets in the feed bar and jams things. Haven't used mine in years. I have heard the 45 setup works better.
Since it has the 45 setup, if it was me, I would pay 100 for it, but wouldn't go $200.
My experience with any Progressive Or Auto machines. Is. : make sure Your There in person while It's Running.
Check all Components, are the new (BRASS), brass resized, No primers. . The former Owned will do His best to make sure it's Running while Your there. you have 1 Hour to Make up your Mind. He has had Plenty of Time to make it Run.. Bring your Own Raw components
Otherwise Run away fast

There's a very good reason RCBS quit making that one.
I think $100 would be about right IF it runs.

I have the 38/357 version... it was not my first progressive, but it's a finicky machine... not a great option if this is your first progressive... I also have never seen one that converts from 38 to 45... the opening that the brass feeds through is cut into the frame, IIRC... Mine won't interchange... However, it does seat primers just fine... I don't have the original primer feeder, tho; I've adapted to a drop tube feeder... and I don't use the original powder feed or bullet seating die; adapted to a case actuated feeder and put the bullets on the case, not dropped through the top...
No problems with different brass. As to different caliber setups, It's a bit more complicated changing calibers with this particular unit I would well imagine. Make sure it has all the parts included that are necessary to make the switch. Parts for the "Green Machine" are in the same aisle as Unicorn horns. As stated above, if you can get it for a hundred bucks. I'd say yes, anymore than that, I'd put my money on a Lee Loadmaster. In spite of their detractors, they are decent units and once setup properly, they work very well. I own both and that's just my opinion.

I finally got to see the GM. The deal ended before it began. The father passed away and the wife n son decided to keep it. The son will probably never use it and it will rust in the plastic tube it's stored in. But after reading the opinions here. It's kinda sorta Luke warm to stay away. Maybe when they are ready I'll revisit the GM. But until now it's fire up the rock chucker. Thanks Guys

My buddy bought one at a local gun show for 150.00 it had a set of 44 mag carbide dies with it. He took it around to the gun shows for over a year trying to sell it for a little profit. No luck at all. I told him I'd buy it from him and he said he just wanted his money back. We agreed on the sale. Next day I took pictures of it and ran it on ebay. It sold for 644.00.
I split the money with my buddy

I recently got a Green Machine set up for 45ACP. I got it from a good friend's widow for $200.
I had to take it apart, clean it thoroughly and make some minor adjustments to the priming station and the bullet seater.
It works MUCH better than any of the three Lee Load Masters I have had.

Buzzard's luck!! Can't kill nothin', nothin'll die!!
RCBS dropped the Green Machines many years ago. There's a reason for that.
That seems to be the consensus.
