    Stainless steel pot o.k.?

Got my eye out for a cast iron pot but till then been using a s/s pot seems to work but the inside bottom gets this tan residue that's a pain to clean. I am waiting for my 20lb bottom pour and want to have my lead as clean as it can be before I put it in the new pot.
Will and dose cast iron make that big a difference?

the stainless will work fine. I use a cast iron dutch oven mainly because I got it for $10 with the lid. It is easier to handle than a s/s pot, but the s/s will do fine

SS is fine. I mix all my alloys, upto 75# batch size, in one. Then pour them into ingots which are ready to drop in the casting pot.

The notion that a radical is one who hates his country is naïve and usually idiotic. He is, more likely, one who likes his country more than the rest of us, and is thus more disturbed than the rest of us when he sees it debauched. He is not a bad citizen turning to crime; he is a good citizen driven to despair.― H.L. Mencken
