Richard corbin still in business?

Im building a swaging press that takes the walnut hill dies. I went to the richard corbin website and it appears to be down? Is he still in business? Anyone have his contact information? Thanks in advance.

I shot Richard an email this morning letting him know it was down. No reply yet but I guess he got it squared away. I know he's been talking about making some changes to how he takes payment, etc so he may be making a few modifications to the website.

What's scary though is he mentioned he's considering canceling Walnut Hill production.... yikes!

It comes up for me, now too. But I noticed that he no longer lists all the dies separately, in a chart. He only lists certain dies. I wonder if he is cutting back. By the way, I have 4 unused external punch holders for the Walnut Hill press that I do not need. He list them at $49, I will let them go at less than that. They will be listed in the swap portion of the blog. If you could use 1, 2, 3, or all 4 check over there for price. Thanks.

Well if a person was considering building a press that took walnut hill dies would you consider revising the plan so it takes dave corbins 5/8x24 dies instead? Id hate to build this thing and never be able to get dies(without having to make them)

Make the press able to take something like 1 1/2" threads, then make bushings for 7/8x14 and 5/8x24 dies.

What about the internal punch dimensions inside the ram?

For what it's worth, David Corbin makes a bushing to use his dies (5/8"-24) in the Walnut Hill (7/8"-14). But I'm not positive about the rams being the same. I think they are. Maybe someone else with more knowledge can claify.

If you have or have access to a mill and lathe adapters are easily made. I use 7/8-14 grade 8 bolts. Mill the head flat on top & then relieve the shaft under the bolt head and square the bottom of the bolt head so it will rest flat on the top of the ram. You can then drill and tap the head for any thread you desire. I use a lot of punches with 3/8-24 thread but I made a bunch with lots of other diameters, usually with National Fine threads. 5/8-24 let's me use "S" and "M" dies on the Walnut Hill.

Ok.. so an adapter bushing is all it would take? So if we were to machine the ram to walnut hill specs and build a bushing i could use the 5/8x24 tpi dies and the 7/8x14tpi dies as well?

You also need some sort of adapter down in the ram to push on the internal punch. Dave adapter comes with the piece that fits down in the ram.

I have one of daves prototype adapters to use s dies on my walnut hill and it works great
