    Question being cheap and lazy...

I've got one of Pat Marlin's .45 caliber gas check makers. Biggest problem is casting enough bullets to gas check but that's another story

was wondering if I could take the plain flat disk and put in on the base of a .44 bullet and run it base first through a Lee sizer?

Yes, I could walk to the garage and do this but it's dark, I'm lazy and just maybe someone has already tried this

    curious minds want to know

I make my own gas check makers. I use the came check on 45 and 44 caliber bullets.
The gas checks are installed on powder coated bullets. The gas checks are installed by pushing thru a Lee sizing die that is upside down on a Harbor Freight hand press. I run the coated bullets thru the sizer first and then install the gas checks. Cola Can material and .010 thick roof flashing are the two materials used to make the gas checks.
I polish the inside of the Lee sizer and open the starting hole a little by polishing the bore of the Lee sizer.
I use the same check on 9 mm and 38 caliber bullets also.

good to know--guess I was overthinking this

not that much difference between a .44 and a .45 as far as gas checks are concerned.

    thanks

I think I saw someone mount the push through sizer upside down on the arbor press and feed the bullets through from the top (which is really the bottom of the sizer) the completed gas check sized bullet drops out of the bottom into a container.

I see if I can track down a picture or link
