I am shooting a 6mm cast for the first time.I had a few bullets from the SAECO #243 mold given to me that measure .244 x .238 on the nose and lightly engraves in the throat..Accuracy is pretty good for starts( 3/4" to 1.5") for 5 shots groups at 100 yards out of a stock Ruger #1B.I also have a an Eagan MX2 243 that has a super short .243 dia body and .235 nose that doesn't come close to reaching rifling.Alloy is WW and stereotype at a BHN of 18-20.The Eagan so far is shooting about as good as the SAECO.I cant see the bullets bumping up and there is practically no body to guide the bullet. The velocity is a chronographed 1775 fps. with a load of 5744(old) and WLP primers.
It goes against conventional wisdom.
