Lloyd, if no answer, you should be able to extrapolate a start load off the Castpics data.

I was told you can use 860, with a kicker of five grains of red dot. There are two different speed 852 powders. One lot, 47289 is a little slower than H 414. What I have is close to 4831.

that's the same lot I have. But its ball powder and I hate cross referencing ball powders with stick. Ball can give you troubles in some rounds.

Is that the stuff that was supposed to be like H335, or am I thinking of WC846 of WC844?

The sheet I have says it is similar to h414, I believe. I thought the other lot was mentioned, but as I read it again, it is about another powder and it was special lot 308 pb was like H380. The 852 was for the 30-06 and you can load about anything with it, similar to 4831, or 4350. The load sheet went up to .338. It would probably be useable in 45-70 with a kicker and maybe a filler but I have no experience with the 45-70.

852 is a bit slow in the 45-70 regardless of which lot you have. The H414 lot is a bit more feasible than the 4831 lots but neither is great fodder for the 45-70 as it doesn't take well to loads with airspace in the case. a 330gr bullet (lyman) with 58gr of the faster lot of wc852 (h414 speed) gives just short of 1600 fps from my Ruger #1 and only about 1200 from the BFR. Lots of unburnt garbage in the short barrel so not a powder of choice for shorter tubes.
