    Need a ladle for smelting..

I've gone thru the search function for this and am still looking - can anyone point me in a right direction for a ladle to pour lead into the ingot moulds from the big pot. Last piece of gear I need to get about 100 pounds into ready for casting mode. I have two older Lyman ladles for pouring into boolit moulds - just looking for something bigger to handle a pound or two of lead at a time. Thanks for your help - Bill

Bill, go the nearest department store. Check the cooking implements and see if you don't find a stainless soup ladle, just make sure the bowl is riveted to the shaft or bowl and shaft are made as one piece.

EBay is chock full of them. Low ball them until one comes home.

I have a bunch of ladles but for ingots nothing beats my ROWELL #3. You might prefer a #4 !

I second GLL's suggestion. You can pick up ladles to pour bullets, or ingots, your choice.

The antimony man has Rowel ladles too.

I now see that Advance is cheaper though.

Appreciate the info - thanks for the help. I remember seeing the Rowell name, but couldn't recall it when I needed to - Thanks Bill

I just got a stainless soup ladle from a thrift store for $0.50 and it works great.

Got a ladle with my turkey cooker at Cabela's. Crimped on a piece of pipe for a handle and it has lasted 6 years. As I remember it cost like $2.

Although I posted the Advance link I actually bought my Rowell #3 from Bill Ferguson. His price is a bit higher but he is a gold mine of information and is extremely helpful answering alloy questions. I suggest we all support his business !
