    38/40 powders in rifle

My supply of Unique is dwindling. I have some Longshot, AA#5 and AA#7
Anyone had success with any of these? I`m shooting a 180 gr. out of a 20" newer 1892
8gr. of Unique has worked great, but hard to find here.

If you can find Herco it'll work about as well as Unique with similar charge weights. May have to go to an old manual to get data though.

Hodgdon Universal can be substituted for Unique.

I could not find any loads with those powders. 2400 and IMR4227 will work.

you don't find too many loads for any of the Boolits we use.
LEE for example has ZERO load data for any of it's molds.
accurate molds ditto, mountain molds zip, NOE none, LBT butkus.
most of the loads we share here are quite often just ones we put together ourselves by reading through a bunch of manuals or modified from a load we found in a lyman manual.

Check out the Lyman Reloaders Handbook 49th edition. Marlin makes a cast bullet manual too & new 50th Edition of the Reloaders Handbook. I've asked for one for Christmas. Lyman usually offers data for cast bullets even in their regular loading manual.
