    Good score yesterday

I don't find many good deals, yesterday was the exception. I stopped at a local pawn shop where I deal frequently. There was some older Lyman stuff lying on the counter. Looked like a Lyman 55 measure, a steel handled 310 tool in 30-06 and a lyman mold with handles. I wanted the older single cavity handles......I picked the mold up.....311413...yuck. I'll give up to $15 bucks and bore the mold out to something usable. With my best "don't really care face" I asked the price.....guy says $5. I think about it a minute..telling self not to set it down and ask about the other "old stuff". Guy says" Oh, 20 bucks. I figure I don't really need 'um but I'll figure out what to do with it later. My friend Rob might want the 55.

Cleaned the stuff up today and checked it out. It's all like new with the paperwork. The boxes are a little dirty. The 310 tool has two neck expanders a 308 and a 314 and a 311 dia push thru sizer.

I started with a 310 and a 94 winchester in 30-30. I loaded a lot of good ammunition with that thing and still have it.

Maybe that middle grandson and the 03A3....good starter kit....Don't ya think?
I wonder how many years I'll have to wait now before it's my turn again?

Sounds like a score to me.
I hate it when I use all my luck in one place.

So what's wrong with 311413? I have 2, a SC that casts at .315 and 2cav that cast at .312, both shoot reather well.

Ya know, I frequent the pawn shops quite often as I travel daily around the state. I've yet to see any reloading equipment, ever. Always thought that was odd.

    Congrats on the score

    Congrats on the score

I used to see it years ago in pawnshops but for the past few years most pawnbrokers don't bother to even put it on the shelf. It goes straight to Ebay or the gun auctions.

My local pawnshop won't take reloading gear on pawn, but they get the guy's number and call me up! I have made 2 really good hauls from them!
You can miss fast & you can miss a lot, but only hits count.
