Char-Gar, ya' done good, my friend. HAVING a gun, and knowing how to USE it are two different things. Keep 'em comin' back and teach 'em how to hit what they want to. THAT is paramount with any sort of gun. Ironically, my own weak spot is with the scattergun, and it SHOULD be the easiest! My chief problem is being cross eye dominant. We all have our crosses to bear. This one's just mine, and I've learned to cope with it to some degree. Perhaps not ironically, when I shoot a shotgun, it's the most gleeful type of shooting I do! Ain't it funny how all that works?

Joyful memories last a long time , and then can be passed to the next generation on and on ...........a gun is not just a gun when it comes from a loved one . Good man

I am not sure what you are getting at here?

I don't think you really belive you outsmarted yourself.
This sounds more like something you have put a lot of thought and planning into, and was coming no matter what the political future holds.
You are a fortunate man to be able to do these things, and your grandkids are fortunate to have you, hope they always realise it, no matter what life throws their way.

Do not be upset if some of them get sold or traded.
I was fortunate enough to buy my cousins their first deer rifle, they were all several years younger than I was. They sold them, some within the first year, at first I thought this was not right, but come to the conclusion that they were theirs to do as they wished, as I had given them to them, not loaned them.

I knew a guy that totally frame off restored antique corvettes for all his grandkids. At least one of them sold his pretty quick. I ask him what he thought of that, and liked his answer. He claimed it showed the boy had common sense, he had much greater use of the fifty grand than he would ever get out of the car, infact he was proud of him for selling it and putting the money to good use.

Good Job! I have already started this downsizing and making sure that the right person gets the right gun. A good friend of mine passed on over a year ago and his kids are still fighting over his extensive S&W collection. Turning into a real battle.
