I have been finding a lot of 17 HMR and a 22 cal version what can these little bottleneck cases be good for?

Keep them, derim them, draw them down to .220" and make long heavy .224" projectiles. You will have to trim the jacket length up a bit though. I build 69gn FBOT out of them. Shoot great in a 1:8 barrel.

Wmr cases have a thicker wall, and yes.. you could make short .30 jackets from them.

I think I will start picking them up there have been a lot of 22 mag cases laying around I should grab them too. not sure what size die to de rim them, I don't think my 22 lr de rim will work for them.

Go for 7 mm and make suitable punch for .30 core swage die. Make the tip for close fit to the derimmed case and make a taper little bit downwards to the shank of the punch that expands to the close fit to ID of cup stretched to .30. The idea is to swage the case from 7 mm to .30 and prevent the lead to escape from it with the tapered punch that blocks it with the bigger OD section.

Uups. Desregard previous. I ment 6 mm. The case is little over 6mm from the mouth so make it with that diameter and the punch according to that. ( Had a sudden loose of consentration when kids where fooling around on the background and tryed to watch tv while writing the thread)

    I figured that would be a pretty thin jacket for a 308. I do have a 243.
