Status of the Ruger No.1-NOT Discontinued

Lee that owns Classic Sporting Arms & is well connected with Ruger & Lipseys made a post
    on the Campfire saying.

"For those that have an interest and have followed the earlier thread on this subject. the Ruger No.1 rifle is NOT discontinued and is planned to be in the 2017 production lineup. This is from Chris Killoy, the Ruger President."

    Sure glad to hear this.

I like the no. 3 myself. Wish that one would come back.

I believe it was someone at a distributor. In any event, it seems that is partially true as the Number 1 is made in periodic runs, not fulltime production.

A small inaccurate spot that something is unavailable or discontinued and every body wants one the speculators start in and sales goes up. Better than any advertising

Oh, that might be me. After a number of distributors posted they had received emails from Lipsey's (I saw an email) stating the number one would no longer be produced, some of us passed it on. Ruger sure has a strange way of continuing production.

I guess what remains to be seen is if Lipseys will be the future sole distributor.

Sounds like the many phony artificial shortages that have driven prices up on everything from peanut butter to coffee, to gasoline over many decades! My guess is somebody wanted to create demand by announcing the end of production. Now even with an announcement of it being false, people will still run out and buy one because they think 2017 might be the last year!

Prices went down after the announcement. It had the opposite effect of a short supply

Since the rumor lasted such a short time, I'm uncertain how anyone could discern pricing effect of the announcement?

Yeah. I had only rolled $11.83 in coins before I found out it was fake.

I wonder if the rumor driven prices will be in effect for a little while ........... still considering the Lipsey's .44 magnum .

I don't think anything nefarious was behind the Lipsey's announcement.
    Most likely just miscommunication.

Wonder when they will continue the production of the 77 pistol cartridge rifles that were halted to make more M 16 `clones` to meet the craze need of if Hillery got in.Robert
