Don't know about other sources, but the 4th Edition of Lyman Shotshell Reloading Handbook has Herco listed for buckshot and slug loads.
    If a 41 won't stop it, I wouldn't bet my life on a 44.

Take a look in these old manuals:

    https://www.castpics.net/LoadData/Fr...M/Alliant.html

The Alliant 2000 manual has Herco shown for both slugs and buckshot. So does the Hercules 1992 manual. In fact it looks like all of them show Herco.

Say this in my local gunshop today. First new jug of HERCO that I've seen in a very long time!!!
It's never been gone to bring back, they just finally bottled some to sell. Never been discontinued. I bought 16 pounds last year when Graf had it along with 16 of 2400 and a few pounds of Auto Comp.

110 grain .358 GDSBHP in .38 S&W 5.6-5.7 grains. Warm load for a Smith m32 . I shoot the same with the 135 grain GDSBHP in mine but I don't recommend it for any other gun but mine and then only if I load them.
