That is good news. Herco is usually on the shelf in this area. (Southwest Pennsylvania) Have seen it when Unique was gone. I have used it some just haven't spent much time with it on one project.

Butchman 205, pretty much whatever you load using Unique ! I love the stuff personally. Shotshells, pistols. It gets some impressive speeds in 12 gauge 1 1/4 oz. loads at relatively low pressures! Loading .40's and .45's with it now, along with some .38 wc loads! Just my .02.

If you've bought Lyman's Cast bullet Handbook, it and Unique are probably the most referenced powder for cast bullets.

Just about anything in handgun with cast boolits is a good fit for it. Good score.

I'm going to look into this. A local shop has a ton of Herco but it's a slightly older label. I didn't see much data for it in handguns. Time to look again. Thanks!

As far as I can tell it never went away. It is in current production.

power pistol and BE-86 are it modern counterparts.
Herco is really good in the 357 and 44.
I use it in the 357 at 7grs under the lyman 158gr rnfp as my main go-to load in the Rossi carbine.

It never went away. Like all the other powders availability was spotty. It's been on the shelves here more often than 2400.

5% increase over Unique data works in most calibers.

11 grains with #429421 is a classic in the .44 Magnum.

Makes sense, Power Pistol is sandwiched between Unique and Herco on the Burn Rate Chart.

I have only ever seen OLD Herco (old square tin cans) always liked it. Think I have a small amount left.

To be honest, I needed IMR 4895 more on this trip to the gunshop, but I've been using Alliant Steel with Herco Data for a couple of years now.

Very good info...and it's great how folks share knowledge around here.
    Thanks for the heads up!

(Now to get a good mess to store between my Unique and Titegroup...never know when the next powder drought is coming. Store up my friends)

It's been a while since I've seen any Herco on shelves.

I'm still trying to finish up an old Hercules cardboard 4lb container of Herco.

I'm sure I won't be getting any more Herco at "vintage" pricing either.
