Aluminun HVAC tape to plug lube holes?

Has anyone ever tried using aluminum furnace duct tape cut into thin strips over the lube holes? I just thought this would lessen the risk of die damage when removing lead shot.

the shot is about 10 times softer than the steel.
it's pretty easy to just pick it back out of the holes.
the tape might work but I'd be afraid of the lube just migrating under it.

No but I have used it to 'open' a mold before. Put on one side of the mold will open it a few thousandth, both sides will double it. But then you will have flashing on the ogive. This information and $2.00 will get you a cup of coffee at McDonald's.

Someone posted here they used electrical tape. I tired it...didn't work for me. I have removed lead from some holes already and it went a lot easier than I thought it would. Only took a minute with a veritable speed drill on real low. Once it started to cut into the lead I pulled the bit out and out popped the shot.

Its been months since I bought the book, "How to scam people online". It still has not arrived yet!
