my .02 fwiw. I have two CVA Scouts, one in .44 and and one in .35 Rem. Both are very accurate with multiple types of ammo. Great triggers out of the box and look good too plus they only run $325-350. You might look at the Hunter edition in blue for about $250.00. I also have a CVA Apex ml. Very nice.
I had half a dozen H&R's over the years and they were fine too but I did have accuracy issues with some. Very picky for me and I eventually sold them all.
I have a Henry BB .44 in Brass that I mounted a Skinner peep on. Love shooting that gun and it is very accurate with a great trigger,
Also have a Marlin 336 .35 Rem, Henry Golden Boy.22 and had an 1894c .357 Marlin, 39M .22 and another 336 .35. I wish I would have kept them all as they were all nice guns and shot great. I love my lever guns. My buddy has a Henry steel .41 and it a really nice gun too but the trigger is no where as nice as my BB.
as far as the Hipoint .45 I have no experience with it so don't know what to say about that one. It's not my cup of tea.
for a semi auto big bore you might look at the Ruger .44 Carbines. I had one years ago and it was nice. Another one I should have kept. They are about the same price range as a lever gun.
