    First pan lube try

Well new to rifles so of course I bent my first ones running them through my lyman.
Instead of trying different ways of floating the top punch I decided to go the push through and pan lube
try and keep the machine for handgun for now.
I took my simple green that turned out perfect and cut a circle to match the mess kit top I planned on using.
Took my drill and drilled holes for the bullets and slide them in - looked good so far.
Dug out the old electric fry pan poured some water in and set the pan in.
    Set @ 212ish and watched.
Figured the bullets would warm with the lube and help according to search function.
Pulled the pan and didn't even tip any over - let cool for about 15 min.
A little wiggle and straight pull up and WOW! Perfect!! lube only stuck in the grooves and push through marks
stayed as shinny as if they just went through.
Now we'll see what the ol winnie will do with .001 runout instead of .012-.014.
I'm happy happy - maybe an idea in here can help some one else.
    Thanks guys

so its a closed container with holes in the top to put the boolits in/pull them out? that's a really good idea!

Good idea, and one that will let me easily fix some commercial cast 9.3s that lost their lube.

    he used my simple lube.
then he drilled holes in the lube then he set the boolits in those holes before melting the lube.

This is true - just used the cut out to cut the cake of lube to fit the pan.
Second go round just drilled additional holes for more bullets and even thought they weren't square on the bottom
the bullets settled right down with no lube on the bottom of the gas check.
Maybe I lucked out but with at least this lube and procedure this pan lube stuff is a piece of cake.
Now to use some BLL and see how fast I can push these - first in the 30-30 and then the 06.

    I, then, misunderstood.
I thought that the plastic was kept over the lube and the bullets pulled up through it, shaping the lube much as those plastic plates that shape Play-do in kids' toys.

That sounds like it would work almost better than the cookie cutters some use.
Drill a hole in a tupper top or such?? softer plastic the better.
I know with simple lube that stuff is unnecessary.
My next try will be with some Bens red.
