    Lee 356-95-RF for 380 ACP?

I am considering purchasing the Lee 356-95-RF mould for use in my 380 pistols. Has anyone used this bullet in the little pocket 380 pistols? Any issues?

Here is a link to the mould: https://www.midwayusa.com/product/44...rain-flat-nose

I will be loading these for a pair of Mustang Pocketlite pistols.

    Thank you for any advice!

    Thank you!

Are you tumble lubing that bullet? I have mule snot if that is the way to go. I plan to use either bullseye or HP-38 for powder. Which powder are you using?

Works great in my wife's Walther PPK!
Use HP-38 and tumble lube. (Try putting the bottle of lube in very hot water for a few minutes, thins it out nicely).

Great info and thank you!! Would this bullet be better than the Lee 102 gr 380 bullet?

I shoot this bullet in both a walther and bersa. Load over auto comp and powder coated gives just over 900 fps in a accurate easy shooting load. Had no end of problems with the 102 grain though.

It is equally as good as the 356-102. My Hi-Point and TCP love 'em both.

Surprised to hear that, I've never had a single issue with that boolit in any gun. What has been the problem for you?

We just recently ran the Ranch Dog 100 grainer over at NOE - essentially the same bullet, if not EXACTLY the same bullet, a VASTLY higher quality mold, and gives you the options of brass, aluminum, solids, or HP's: http://noebulletmolds.com/NV/index.p...pu665vicruhj46

Got mine in 4C solid brass. Shoots great in old Colts, old FN's, PPK's, and Glock 42's. Had it confirmed by a friend as a dandy possum-plugger in the LCP.

It looks like a great bullet but was not available yet when I got my 380LCP. I did get the LEE 102 RN and it runs flawlessly. 2.7gr HP-38 or WW-231 Safe and pleasant.

My bad, I have the 105 swc. The square shoulder requires it to be seated very short, leading to reduced case capacity and poor feeding.

I have the RD version of this mold and I have had excellent results with it. 3.0 grains of WWW-231 has worked well in my PPK/S, Beretta 84, Mustang Pocket lite, and my LCP.

I've coated them, tumble lubed them and pan lubed them. It all worked. I'm using power pistol and hs-6 for my loads.

Well, I got the Lee 2 cavity mould from Midway USA, and will have to send it back. The mould casts nicely, and drops bullets very easily, but after 2 sessions the moulds consistently mic at .3613X .3596. A shame that is as they are cute little bullets. I plan to just get a replacement and hope that does better as I like the design with the tumble lube grooves for coating with LLA.

I made sure mould and pot were up to temp, ensured blocks were aligned and closed all the way, etc.

I powder coat it for my Ruger LCP. Many brands of 380 brass are too thick to take a .357 cast boolit and still chamber without swedging the boolit down too small. There is a thread on what 380 head stamps do you cull. I load the too thick ones with J words and shoot them where I have a chance of loosing them.

I did my range work up today out of a pair of Colt Mustang Pocketlite pistols. 2.0 to 2.8 gr of Bullseye with the bullet sized to .356 and coated with 3 coats of thinned LLA. Seated to .935, crimped to .369 in mixed head stamp brass. All loads functioned 100%. The 2.8 gr load had the best accuracy at 10 and 25 yards and is the load I will use. Not a bit of leading to be seen!! Thank you to all of you for the info on this bullet.

It should work perfectly... should... It is a copy of the ranchdog 380TL, IIRC. Having said that, It shoots fine in 380 for me, and where it really shines is in .357 sig.

I load this one in 9mm and 357 Sig, but it's a great little bullet either way; one of the few Lee options that are actually really good designs. I think it's a much better bullet than the 102 RN or the 105 SWC.
