question on mihec hollow point mold

I have the 358 hollow point mold that I got from a group buy a while back. I started casting with it the other day and noticed that the hp pins are really tight and don't slide out to release the boolit on their own. They are actually pretty tight. Is this normal? What can I do to make them easier to slide out? Thanks in advance.

Loosen up the stems. You don't want them fully tightened. The small allen wrench that came w/ the mold fits them. Start loosening them until the pin will fall under it's own weight.

Also, I put just a scoosh of the lube that comes with the mold on the part of the hp pins that slide thru the mold block.
It's all chicken, even the beak!

Don't put mold lube on the pins. Clean the pins and coat them with pencil lead along with the HP pin and re-install about a half turn loose as mentioned above.
