    Latest aquisition

Put this in this section even though its not a military rifle ,but is in a ex military calibre
My latest acquisition , 1902 model BSA Le1 commercial sporting rifle in 303 British with 5 shot magazine and Metford rifling .
All matching numbers on bolt, barrel, magazine and action.
I'm waiting patiently for delivery and even less patiently to shoot it.

I take it that you will be looking for a dust cover and mag cut-off for that Bob. Nice score though, especially with the correct mag. I have one for mine and it make the in hand carry so very much better.

    Gary ,
Have a dust cover amongst my stash of spares ,hoping the mag is one from the cavalry carbine the 5 round square box type not the rounded fish belly type.
The box mag is correct for the pattern 4 rifle that was offered in 375 x 2 1/2" which is what I may eventually rebarrel it to .I'm looking for the two leaf BSA express sight to fit to it if I do the rebarrel job. My other BSA Lee Metford sporter has the fish belly mag .Pattern 1,2,3were fitted with an express sight with a 100yd standing leaf and folding leaves for 200 and 300 yds and a ladder sight graduated to 1000 yds .As shown in BSA' s 1912 catalogue .I a couple of mag cut offs but not fussed about putting one on it ,they can be a pia in some situations.

    Gday Garry and Bob,
I have a Long Tom, missing the dust cover
For a 29" bbl, amazing balance and sight acquisition.I hope to fire it a bit in some service matches , and plan for a Lee Speed conversion.

Nice , dust covers turn up frequently on flea bay for little money . I bought an early non saftey bolt and dust cover for $50 not long ago .
Just search Lee Enfield on fleabay , or 303 ,or SMLE .
The trigger on this one I just bought has been modified to a single stage , the bolt safety is not functioning . Ill be looking at a shotgun wrist type safety that was fitted on some Lee Speeds and on other models offered by BSA as an extra. Would be nice to find one ,but It would be easier finding a gold nugget in a long drop toilet.
