    Post RNSWC OR SWC FOR 40 S&W XD 40 Question???

    This is my first post!! What is best to shoot out of a 40 S&W xd40? These are just for paper target cutting!! Should I shoot Round Nose or Semi Wadcutter bullets? I have 155 gr SWC in coated and not coated from Missouri to shoot, both are SWC but I noticed they also have Round Nose SWC, are the round nose better (less expensive) to shoot? My son is a LEO and he brought me 1500 Nickel cases that I want to load for Lead bullets but I need some information, can someone on this site help me decide which ones to use just to target shoot, both outdoor and indoor are withing driving range.

    With SWCs it depends how well it chambers. Make up some dummies with no primer or powder. See how well they chamber. Round Nose are usually easier but not always. Truncated Cone are usually the easiest to feed.

    The RN's will shoot just fine however they will not leave a clean entry hole. I prefer the SWC's for everything myself, but cost is a great incentive.
