    Bullet Seating 38/.357

Hey guys. Picked a bunch of these pulled bullets. Never saw the ledge on these before. Do you load these to the top of the bump?

Seat them to the length that will fit your pistol/rifle action and function close to recommended oal .

I am assuming the marks near the nose is marks from the puller. I would load them to the top (slightly past if roll crimping) of the straight shank section. Noticed your name, I too am a fan of the Sig 2009. Mine has a bore of .358+, for cast, it likes .359 boolits. The std size, .356, lead badly and tumble at 25 yds.

Those bullets look like they are pulls. The ledge or ring are likely the remains of the previous cartridge crimp.

If you apply a firm crimp to a loaded cartridge, and then pull a plated or jacketed bullet, you'll often see a ring, or a ledge around the projectile much like the ones in your photo.

Nothing wrong with those, just load them to your required OAL, crimp and shoot em.
