    I need old Lage uniwads

For a .600 RB load I make for 12 gauge. Some of you old timers remember these from the 70's but if you don't here's a pic that shows the "cage" that fits in the shotcup. I'd really appreciate it if you could let me know if you have some or have a lead on some. An older shotgunner that reloaded maybe. Thanks

Jeeeez HT it really seems like you liked those Uni Wads. Just think if you would have bought a truck load back then today you would have been looking the same. They were a great wad to many. I used them for probably 80 to 90% of my shotgun reloading and I didn't get into buck and slug or ball back then. I used the 12 and 20 ga ones. Their data was pretty simple. To bad somebody like Claybusters does not make a clone for them. I have only a few 20s laying scattered around in a few miscellaneous vintage bags. Somebody stole my Mod 37 20ga. Now that I think of it they might have been a decent wad for experimenting with the projectiles stated above. The only thing is if Claybuster made them they would have to come up with a stiffer plastic for the red part.
May you hands be warmed on a frosty day.

I know this is an older thread but I have been away for a while.
    Hogtamer,
Would you mind sharing the load you are using?
I helped clean out an elderly man's reloading shed and ended up with about 4000 of these wads.

Will do tomorrow, with pics if you're interested in the "oddball" load. Single .600 soft lead lee ball projectile. It works!

    1) 600 soft lead round ball, about 3/4 oz., lee mold 2) separate red crush section from wad cup of Uniwad 3) work RB into "cage" of crush section, save shotcup for other purpose 4) insert 20 ga nitro card into base of Trap Commander or noblesport 1 1/8 oz wad and set ball in cage into wad, ball up. 5) Win 209 primer in Remington hull ( I used gun clubs,1x) 6) 16.5 - 17 grn 700x powder 7) load normally, may have to fiddle with wad pressure a bit to get perfect crimp 8) ~ 1300 fps, best from IC choke, excellent to at least 50 yds, will go through a deer. Roughly equivalent to a hot .44 mag load, but in shotgun recoil is
practically nill. This load was 2 for 2 on deer this year out of an 870 Rem, 20" IC fixed barrel and Red dot.http://www.claybusterwads.com/index....12-load-dataIf If you want to part with some of them I'm a willing buyer...

    Hogtamer,
If I understand your post correctly, you are using the crush section of the Lage uni wad to "build" up the diameter of .600" round ball for better fit.
PM me on how many wads you want.
