BLL, anyone willing to sell a can of liquid floor wax?

Looking to make a batch of BLL, I know we have a few hoarders on the board . Would anyone be willing to sell me a bottle of pre-mixed or a can of the liquid wax? Worth a try.

Hi farmbif! The top sticky " new TL liquid lube" is about mixing alox with this floor wax.

This stuff works really good for me....

Getting the past wax is no problem online is relativity easy and you can still find some liquid available at times , for around 10 bux a can . But there is one guy on Amazon is selling the stuff for 88 bux for 2 cans , it is all I can do to hold my tong and call him out for price gouging.

It's not price gouging. He is free to charge whatever he wants. You don't have to buy it at that price. Look at the prices of any item on Amazon. There are huge price ranges. I was looking for HiViz hoodies a few weeks back. I could buy them from $12 per all they way up to $70.

I looked on the SC Johnson website and there is an FAQ section. One of the questions was where to buy the liquid floor wax and the reply was that it was discontinued in Fall of 2015.

Has anyone looked into finding a suitable substitute?

Nothing on the market now has the 2 proprietary co-polymers that Johnson's liquid floor wax had! That is the key ingredients. Enough said! There is absolutely no substitute!
Look as long as you like. Other then trying to buy the patent off of them you will not duplicate it. I know I have tried!

Some of the True Value hardware stores will have a dusty can or even two on the shelf. Central warehouse has none to replace it with so if you (or myself) buy what is on the shelf there won't be more stock coming in.

It may well be time to move on to other approaches. I like 45/45/10 recipe but have found that even in a sealed mustard squirt bottle it hardens up. It seems to work ok after a couple of 15 or 20 second hits in the microwave, maybe even a third one after it is shaken. Still clogs the spout as soon as it starts to cool. Smells a bit funny so try to do this when spouse is someplace else or has a head cold.

Disclaimer: works in my microwave, with my bottle of lube. Anytime you choose to microwave a container containing volatile and flammable chemicals such as mineral spirits you assume a risk. YMMV and just as with loads you would be smart to work up gradually to avoid disasters. I am an idiot that does some crazy stuff and copying me is just silly. But if you do make sure the nozzle is not capped or clogged otherwise it blows out "stuff" as bottle gets hot.
Scrap.... because all the really pithy and emphatic four letter words were taken and we had to describe this source of casting material somehow so we added an "S" to what non casters and wives call what we collect.

Kind of hard to claim to love America while one is hating half the Americans that disagree with you. One nation indivisible requires work.

I was gifted a bottle and have been using it for a few months now. It's great! Took the 9mm hitek rounds that were leaving a "smearing" residue in the barrel and tumbled them in a light coat, no more issues. Used on 38 spec and 45 acp, like a champ! All target load levels.

Shipping one can through the USPS cost about $10.50. You can fit multiple cans in a medium FRB. I don't know what they're charging but shipping anything anymore isn't cheap.

and just because they'll let you put it in the cart doesn't mean they actually have it.
