What's the 2nd lube layer or "coat" made of?

I bought some DRG brand of commercially cast SWC 158gr .375" bullets they are prelubed in the lube groove but also the whole bullet is coated with a clear waxy coating. I see that the Meister brand of cast bullets also claims to have a coating over the bullet.
I was wondering if any one knows what this 2nd clear waxy coating is and what it's for.
Does any home casters apply some kind of clear waxy coating after lubing and sizing?

I've been known to use an overcoat of tumble lube on a boolit, over the lube in the grooves. It provides a little more lube if you feel you need it. I've used both Lee Liquid Lube and now Ben's Liquid Lube. An overcoat will also prevent oxidation of the boolit for long term storage.

Same type of waxy product that is on lead .22 rimfire bullets? I think it is just that.....wax.

Alox or Paraffin - tumble lubed. Rooster Jacket has a tendency to flake off. Primarily used as PP coating of the paper
Your best answer is to call the vendor and Ask!
