Wolfer that is absolutely a great experience for the both of you. That first squirrel is a very big deal and you guys did it up in style. Been a while since I was at Arms and Ammo. Do they still have the big dogs guarding the place? I was about afraid to get out of the car on my first trip.

No, there are a couple of what I believe are boxers of some type and a black dog of questionable heritage. Bunch of Turkeys in the pen out front but Leona was talking about butchering them pretty quick.

I have a picture of each of my kids with their first squirrel also. The girls used a Rossi single shot .22 and my boy an Ithaca 20 gauge. Thanks for the memories.

It's fun to hear a bunch of locals talking on the board. Don't let the people in the city know about that arms and ammo place. They are the only ones who have anything in stock when Bass Pro & Cherokee run dry.

I know you heard it before but enjoy all you can now they grow fast, I have some pictures of my boys with their first kill now they are hunting with out me. Oldest one got a nice 8 point this Saturday nephew and niece went with me and he took a little buck on his own well his sister was sitting in the stand with him. He had that big grin too, BTW his sister is 17 hes 13 she was making sure he was being safe and me and my wife were in another box stand watching their stand from 600 yards. My wife was really excited that she saw the deer drop and then she heard the report of the rifle. I call it a good day kids are happy wife is happy and I see maybe I taught them a few things.

    No!
Its a one woman shop since Richard passed away. Stuff is stored in an old barn, different sheds and a trailor behind the house. I would guess cost of overhead would be extremely low. Most of their business is on the Internet I believe.
Richard told me that when they were hitting the gun shows regular they had 7 people working there. Mostly getting orders ready to ship. As his health started failing they slowed way down on the gun shows.

Their prices are generally about like Midway without the shipping.

    armsandammo.com is the website.

It is a good place to get your reloading and shooting components. I regret to say that I haven't been there in quite a while. I actually thought they had gone out of business after the loss of Richard. I will make it a point to get over there soon. Wolfer thanks for reminding me of the place.
