    Question Remember me?

"Everyone has a plan, until they get punched in the face!" - Mike Tyson

"Don't let my fears become yours." - Me, talking to my children

That look on your face, when you shift into 6th gear, but it's not there.

Maybe but my dad lived in southeast Colorado and he wore a string tie. Not always string, but sometimes. Think since he had to wear a regular tie for most of his working life he liked the string tie since it was dressy without reminding him of work.
Scrap.... because all the really pithy and emphatic four letter words were taken and we had to describe this source of casting material somehow so we added an "S" to what non casters and wives call what we collect.

Kind of hard to claim to love America while one is hating half the Americans that disagree with you. One nation indivisible requires work.

Ha! My first Chief of Police wore a string tie and he was born, raised, and worked in Michigan.

we call e'm bolo ties in the west.
I spent 2 months catching little yellow scorpions and putting them under glass so my buddy could turn them into those type of ties for my BIL's wedding.

    String tie...Never heard that term
A rare few of us in MN will wear a Bolo tie, This nice scrimshaw example I picked up at a 'Fair' in AK while visiting my cousins in Aniak.

I made and sold lots of bolo ties back in the 60s. As a gem cutter and rock hound, there was always something interesting to use.

just like the plain white backed ones Art shows.

we done the ends in deer/elk horn tips and I made some dummy bullets with the primer hole drilled out for the ends.
they were all the same but all a little different.

when I think of string tie I think more like wyatt earp wore where they were a simple [floppy] bow tie type but with thin ribbon and long loose ends.
