Lightbulb What If I Drop Bullets Direct From A Mold Into A Pan Of Lube?

    They're hot.
    They'll melt it.
If I, in the end, stand'em up and let'em cool they're pan lubed.
If I, in the end, pick'em out and let'em cool they're dip lubed.

For shot as cast boolits -- no sizing, nor GCs -- should work and combine some steps and time.

In theory with the right lube, in deep enough cake of lube it might work - you have quite the job of finding the correct combination - keep us informed of your experiments.

Also, time spent setting boolits upright and or taking them out to cool would interference with my casting cycle and allow my mold to cool off between casts. It wouldn't work for me at all. When casting, I don't have time to do the extra steps you're talking about.

Won't work. Big mess. But take video if you do it.

Closest I have come is this, drop boolits into stainless steel bowl. When done casting drop in a chunk of lube, takes less than you might think. I used Ben's Red.

Swirl or tumble in the bowl. If the boolits have cooled too much I have used a harbor freight heat gun to bring all the boolits to the same temp and melt the lube.

I swirled until I could see a line of congealed lube forming on the side of the bowl above the boolit.

Now I had my best luck with boolits done this way is adding a couple of layers of Ben's Liquid lube on top of the Ben's Red.

It was not a huge mess, but I used a very small amount of lube wanting just a very thin coat. Most of the lube ended up either on the bowl or in the lube grooves.

    YMMV
