    H&G 4 cavity - Coated?

    Saw this on ebay.

Can not believe what some one did to this H&G mold.

I have a Lyman 4 cavity .38 Wadcutter mold that someone in a past life had electroless nickel plated. Don't know why, but they did. It's been so long since I cast with it, I don't remember if it affected the dropped diameter or not...

I'm not sure it's coated, it looks bead blasted to me. If that is the case, it is probably fine.

I'd say it was soda blasted.

Listing says it's coated. That is not soda or any kind of blasted surface. My guess is powder coat. When I see things that people have done like this is the reason I take everything posted on the internet with a big helping of salt, because these people can post and what's even scarier they can vote!
