After our appointment at Walgreens in Cour d Alene this morning for our flu shots, my wife and I stopped by the Black Sheep and I picked up 2000 primers and 100 J word bullets for the 460. Getting ready for November!

I have not injected poison into my body since I left the Army in 92.
The odds of doing harm, largely outweighs the small chance you contract the correct strain of flu.

The last time I had a flu shot was 1975, we were guinea pig, and were overdosed by the Army.
Ive had the flu once since then.

    Hi...

I get a flu shot every year...At nearly 62, I have never had the flu.
However, I am currently battling cancer for the third time...So, I guess you pay your money and you take your chances, to coin a phrase.

I had a flu shot in the Army in 1971 and ended up in the hospital. I was never required to get another while in the Army.

I always get the shot! Even if you don't contract it, 1 in 4 is a dormant carrier and can pass it to children or the immunocompromised.

I need to get more powder.

Started getting the flu shots about six years ago, haven't had even a bad cold since. For the ten years before that, I was getting pneumonia every winter, and the doc said it was doing some damage to my heart and strongly recommended I get flu and pneumonia shot. What ever works for you guys, hope for the best!

High fever, vomiting, lay up in bed flu, or just what people who haven't had the flu think the flu is?

Never had a flu shot that I know of and never (knocking on wood) had the flu. Too many have died from taking it, I'll take my chances.

I do not judge harshly those that do but I abstain from any of that shot business. While in the USMC, I was required to get the shot and sickened every year. I did not appreciate it, so now that I have a choice, I choose not getting the shot and sick.

I get flu shot every year also I got the Shingles shot. My Mom got the shingles 3 years ago. With my cancer I cannot take a chance to get sick if I can prevent.

Same concept, only now there's a known dose of an inactive or dead virus instead of live virus, which is safer and prevents you from actually getting the flu. You'll probably get a cold still, different virus, but you won't miss work with a fever or carry a dormant virus to a child or elderly person who is much more vulnerable to it.

Getting sick was never good for you, it's the adult immunity you were aiming for. This way you get it with far less risk.

Had a good friend who refused to get a flu shot, He's buried now, dead from the flu.

I get the shot every year as does my wife, neither of us has had even a cold in years, can't even remember the last time.

For thos who say they get the flu from the shot is ridiculous, you may get a reaction, you may get the flu shortly after "you already had it" just didn't know it. The shot doesn't take full effect for a couple of weeks after the shot.

Tell me this, how can you get sick from dead virus? If you could there would be millions dead or cripples from taking the polio shots.

In the end, your bod, your family, take care of them or not is entirely up to you, remember you may well be the carrier for others who skip the shot. Think well of your fellow man!

Been getting one for the last 15yrs. The fall before I started them I was down for three days blowing from both ends with 102'ish fever followed up with the finally of 36'ish hours of 103-104.6 fever before it finally broke.

I'll take my chances with the shot. It took me a full week and a half to get back my strength the last go round.
    Later,
    Mike / TX

Once I hit 55 I got my first flu shot. Last year they really nailed it. Two years ago it was a fail, but even then it was reported to lessen the symptoms.

See how potent and effective the vaccine was.
