    45 ACP Wad cutter?

Does anyone successfully shoot 45 cal. full wad cutters in a 1911?

No personal experience, but others seem to.
I thought I might try them one day.
I like wadcutters and semi-wadcutters, both.
    Maybe Glen Fryxell?

A bear, however hard he tries, grows tubby without exercise.

Generally speaking no. The issue being that full wadcutters do not feed well; hence the SWC use. That being said, you certainly can run them, I have one 1911 that will feed them reliably, but most of my full WC loads in .45ACP run in my 625 revolver. It just depends on your pistol and your magazine.

I never tried wadcutters in a 1911, but my thoughts are if your gun won't feed empty cases there is no need to even try.

Yes I did have an issued 1911A1 that would feed empties. It was a Remington Rand s/n 2225478 and I would like to find it again, but it was probably cut up for scrap in the 1990's.

You may have to get a barrel that can be tweaked to feed them reliably.

There was one of the old Wilson books on the combat 45 that showed the modifications needed to make swc feed reliably. It involved moving the shell release point back. Used a 1/2" rod to better form the back section of mag lips

    What are those Bullets/Boolits?

I'd like to try some of those in my .45 Auto.

If they are a no go, then they'd do fine in my S & W M1917 Revolver, so...either way.

Are these ones you have Cast?

    Or..?

Load a simi-wad cutter with a beveled base backwards and you will have a boat-tail wad cutter bullet.

The old Lyman 452-389 was about as close as I have come to what you're attempting, I did not have reliable function in my gun, but YMMV.

An Ole Timer gave me some of those several years ago and I could not get them to feed properly to save my life, no mater how deep or shallow I seated them.
