    What is your insanity?

What guns make you buy them even when you don't need them? Which ones do you have to see when they're in the gun case at the fun store?

I have two guilty pleasures--38 snubbies and Colt Woodsmen. I have 8 or 9 38 snubbies and my avatar demonstrates my addiction to the old Colt 22's. What can't you get enough off?Click image for larger version.

I am guilty in an other way. I want a 45 70 don't need it, but the cartridge fascinates me, something about sending a slow slug down range. This place gets me going on guns, I don't need as well I saw a 44 mag. stubby looks cool I want one. When I go into the lgs and the gun feels so good I just got to get it.

My particular form of insanity is K frame Smith & Wesson 38 special and 357 mag revolvers. I already have more than I "NEED". They just feel so right in my hand and shoot so well.

Cheap ones do it to me every time.

Can't even go eat breakfast out of town and I spot a WTS S&W 27-2 add pinned up on the board. The $275 price tag had me on my phone before I even ate.

Ruger Mk III 22/45's my wife and I each have one. Not really what I would define as "useful" in most cases.
Not going to stop anybody in their tracks but they do shoot. It is my favorite gun to shoot at the pistol range.

Couple of weeks ago I had a good day, 10 rounds in one hole that you could cover with a bottle cap at 20 feet. But I cheated, I was siting down thus more stable platform.

For the last few years mine has been the small caliber rifle cartridges. Built a 222 to shoot cast with when 22's got expensive and scarce. Recently built a 20 practical as a varmit gun. Already have a 22-250 for that. Just find it amazing what a small little pill can do when pushed really fast. Never was into the going fast thing until recently. The performance of these little cartridges in the 200-300 yard range is amazing. Always thought wildcats were interesting.

    I've got the same addiction, guess I'm in good company. Haven't met a 38 I didn't enjoy.

Got 3 of them, and there are a few models I would not mind adding.

Browning Hi-Power. The problem is, cheaper guns keep getting in the way!

1911's I've got 7 of them now. Used to be Colt DA's 1920-1970ish, in particular the New Service.

Want to make a quick profit?

I'm fruit for N frame S&Ws, .22 match pistols from S&W, Colt & Hi Standard & rifles that shoot little bitty groups at a long way away.

    And of course, Colt 1911s.

While I never had and probably never will have, CZ rifles and pistols turn me on, as well as Ruger revolvers... Naming the beasts, CZ 75B,97B, rifles 550/557 FS, Ruger GP100, Redhawk, Blackhawk, SP101 snubby... I like steel.

    Meanwhile, back to Taurus...

I guess I'm kind'a an EEOC looney? All sorts of things attract me. Neat old well used but well maintained rifles at a good price. Older revolvers, well appointed custom autos, but of all the things that stir my passions, the old Schuetzen rifles are my absolute top weakness. Don't see many around here any more, and I've never been able to afford one when I've had the luck to encounter them. Nowadays, handguns are my most used guns, and the ones I profit most from shooting. OM Ruger SA's are a favorite, but the new Flat Tops are really impressing me. Nice real stag or ivory grips would do it. I have my eye out for a good SA with real ivory grips now. Probably won't be able to afford it when I find one now, but .... a guy can at least aspire to get lucky, can't he?

Big bore revolvers for me, but even 38/357 attract my attention. Also, lever actions and 22s. Plus any caliber I don't have.
