I think Pedersoli specifications are bore 0.450" and groove of 0.458" which would make the grooves about 0.004" deep. The original Springfield specified a depth of 0.005" but the bore and groove diameter varied quite a bit with my rifle having a groove diameter of .461".

Know about that site but it appears the Pedersoli TDs are authentic as to 3 groove barrels. I looked at a M1873 infantry rifle and a carbine recently and both had 3 groove barrels. That's why I was asking specifically if anyone knows or has slugged one. Didn't we have a Pedersoli Rep who was hanging out here?

Dick Trenk is the Rep. Don't know if he's on this board. He does respond on the following.
