to modify or trade a die

I have a star sizer and die that I got from here, the die says .457 in electric pencil so it must be home made or modified by someone here, anyways I really need a .459 for my marlin, and was wondering if anyone would be interested in a trade, or if there is someone here that can do a accurate job of modifying it, how much does it cost? one thing I am worried about is the holes in the sides apparently have a smaller dia. on the inside, and a larger dia. on the outside to keep the lead shot from going all the way through. if it were opened up to the large part of the hole, then a slightly larger hole would be needed to be drilled half way through every hole to fix it. I dunno,, if anyone can help I would appreciate it, I know it will help my accuracy a lot. thanks, Travis

Lathesmith can do it. For a while there, Magma used a hand held engraver to mark their dies. They may still do it that way.

do you know how much he would charge, I looked at his price list, but he doesn't mention just a quick little job like that

My early Star dies were all marked with an electric stylus, so you may have an original. They are easier to enlarge, since there is no push rod to make.

Most of my Star lube dies, where purchased by the original owner of the press, back in the 1980's. All of those are marked with a hand engraver (electric pencil).

About 5 years ago, I had Lathesmith open up a .429 die to .432 and there was no problem with the lube ports being opened up to the larger size. I don't recall what he charged ? but it was reasonable.
