your attachment is invalid you'll have to just type them out.
I can see the tapered section of the ball seat area, and how it funnels down into the barrel.
that boolit I showed has a tapered front drive band to mimic that transition angle where it changes from leade to barrel.
you need the nose engraving to guide everything when chambering the round, and to support it during acceleration. [it also starts the boolit spinning during the slowest part of acceleration making it harder for the boolit to skid]
the drive band will scuff into that ball seat area providing further alignment.
    that's the easy measurement.

the bore diameter is for the nose diameter.

in the first pic I linked it shows 311 right there in front of the band.
I went with 313 because I'm also using the boolit in my 32 Winchester.
for a single purpose rifle 314 would provide a snug fit with engraving all the way around and good support.
313 would insures a slip fitment with [very light] light engraving and make the round more convenient to de-chamber in the field.
you can slightly adjust this fitment by manipulating your alloy with more antimony or more lead.

My favorite load of 12.3 grs. of Alliant Unique , with the IDEAL, 323471, sized to .325 ". The bullet has my own .014 " thick AL gas checks.

I couldn't be happier with my rifle.

I fired the 1st 5 rounds in the group below :

Then Jason shot a group with 8 rounds :

There aren't a whole lot of rifles I "crave" any more, but a purpose-built sporter in 8 x 57 is one such critter. A Rem 700 Classic would be a real coup for me, as would a Steyr-Mannlicher so chambered. The rationale is for easy scope mounting on a caliber I REALLY like.

I have two Lee moulds in 8mm that both shoot well in my current 8 x 57, a Mannlicher G98/40. The mainstream Lee 175 grainer has been my primary bullet, and 16.0-18.0 grains of Alliant 2400 was a common campaigner at Buckshot's old Burrito Shoots. If those rascals I shot with had a real bad day--and I had a real good day--I could actually win once in a while using this rifle and load. I set the barley-corn system at 400 yards, and the lighter load went point-of-aim = point-of-impact at 50 yards. The heavier load performed similar magic at 100 yards without sight change.

The other 8mm mould on hand is a 236 grain monster from a Lee group buy some years back. This one LOVES being driven hard, and when the bullet is happiest is about the same time I'm going "NO MAS". I haven't clocked them yet, but I have zero doubt that even at moderate velocities it could transit end-to-end through a mastodon. The steel buttplate on the G98/40 enhances the push-back effects comprehensively, too.
I don't paint bullets. I like Black Rifle Coffee. Sacred cows are always fair game. California is to the United States what Syria is to Russia and North Korea is to China/South Korea/Japan--a Hermit Kingdom detached from the real world and led by delusional maniacs, an economic and social basket case sustained by "foreign" aid so as to not lose military bases.

You can use 00 buckshot. At .33" it will be the right diameter and it is soft.

    8mm

I just bought this NOE 325-216-SP mould during NOE's last big sale.

I haven't got to use it yet due to the usual summer travels and road trips, but hopefully this fall I'll get to break it in. I'll use it in my Mausers, but it should work a treat in that Remington 700 of yours.
    Keep your powder dry,

I actually bought this one during the sale, in the .325", HP version.

But I haven't tried it as I haven't got it yet.
