blue dot load for 20 ga?

    Reference:

So, I'm playing with it. I tried BP and got great results. But I want an indoor range load, and the BP was no good for that. So I tried BH209 and again got great luck. But that's also no good for cost reasons, and I want to save that powder for my 45 cal muzzleloader.

So I'd like to try bluedot, but not sure where to go to figure out how much to use.

I'd use a nitro card over powder, about an inch worth of fiber wads, and a round ball.

Any suggestions on powder charge to try, or where to find a relatively recommended load? This is for a handi rifle which is of reasonable strength, of course not ruger #1 level. The frame has taken 150 grains of BP in a huntsman barrel with ease, as well as 3.5" 12ga loads. It can handle alot. But I'm not looking to chase maximums here, just find what gets the ball downrange with minimal fuss, minimal risk. a kilo fps or so should do me just fine.

The attached PDF provides detail on the hull type, wad and cards, weight and type of powder and primer used. The data is for a 1 ounce FB slug in a 2.75" hull. The petals are removed from the wad.

I have used Blue Dot with a HTWW 600 grain .735 RB in a Remington M1100. It worked reliably with consistent results even though I was not attempting maximum loads. At 50 yards it penetrated about 7 inches of fir.

crazy how little space 20 grains of bluedot takes up in the case.

I have 1.5" of fiber wad in there under a slug and I still misjudged the space left, the ball is seated deep. Needs another quarter inch of wad.
