Ok so I find myself in need of some advice concerning the moving of the rear sight in the slide.
I may just need more meat behind the brass drift. Man that bugger is stuck tight.
HELP please

Of 5 XD's none needed it. There is a good tool made, not just a drift. IMHO, if never tinkered with, send to Springfield. How much ammo do you want to shoot to get it right?
Whatever!
They ARE tight really tight and a brass drift is not the tool for this one you need a XD pusher from Brownell's or Midway. Or take it to someone who has one as a drift will leave you with dents and wrinkles before you move anything. I have a pusher I made for my machine vise and even on that it takes some muscle.
Wow got it to budge ... I used my vise as a pusher/sight pusher ... I used some oak wood on the one side and an Allen socket ( 1/4" drive) on the other side and against the sight. I put pressure on it with the vise and then tapping on the vise jaw ... it moved and I was able to move/adjust the sight.
Man that was a tight fit. Good part is when I get it sighted in it should stay put.
