    Take your pick

For cost verse value the CZ's are hard to beat. Same for the Sako Quad when it was cheap but the prices have gone way up.

Anything you got...........if you can find the ammo to shoot in it!

I moved on to light-loading other cals (9/30/38/45) for my long guns rather than paying 10-12 cents a round for stupid 22LR's.

If my memory is correct, the premium 22 LR hasn't really increased that much in price. I usually use SK Standard Plus in my CZ452 and it is available for about $60 per 500 rounds. I think I was paying $45 a few years ago. When I only shoot about 10 rounds a day (backyard) it really hasn't effected me too much.

I have an Anschutz and a Savage/Anschutz clone and they are both awesome with great triggers.

I had a Remmy 521 clone that was the most accurate .22 that I have owned.

Alot of 22 lr accurracy is in the ammo. Take a match grade gun and shoot golden boolits through it and it'll be beat by an entry level xyz shooting ammo matched to it. Its a **** shoot but there are a few consistant performers out there if you have the coin. For the DIY guy, a 10-22 is a great platform.

I can shoot my MLs and SMLs way cheaper than a 22LR. And don't have to load "ammo". AND get way more "BANG" for the $. And it slows the kids down from burning through $150 in ammo in an afternoon.

Currently all my RF ammo is dedicated to real hunting/trapline use or "hoarding" in prep for the 2016 election and 1/20/17 swearing ceremony for POTUS and resultant shortage of everything firearms related. I will not be caught short again like 08.

I do indeed have both a 10-22 as well as a 22/45 ruger but in hindsight I have not been up on the situation concerning both availability and cost of the 22lr ammo.

I also can load and cast my boolits. Just reminiscing on days gone by and wanted to experience those days again.

I would be hard pressed to pay anything more than what I can load for.
