    Available Cast bullet Diameters

I'm looking for cast bullet (.40 S&W) suppliers that offer different sized diameters. I have determined that I need a boolit sized to .402-.403 diameter to prevent leading in my 40 calibers. I am aware of Dardas, but haven't found any others. The others that I have looked at only show bullets in .401 diameter.

Also looking for a few 40 cal cast bullets sized to .402 dia.

Thanks in advance for your help.

    Have a blessed day,

    Leon

You may need to cast your own. Accurate Molds will make a mold for any diameter you desire.

Canadian shooters can get most sizes and designs from M.T. Chambers' Supply.

Call the folks at Missouri Bullets. They will sell "as cast, un-lubed" bullets. I don't know what size the .40's drop from their molds, but all it takes is a phone call.

Matt's Bullets might be another place to check. He has several .38-40 cowboy bullets which are available jn different diameters ans also sells unsized and unlubed.

How about powder coating them to bump the size up?

Ole Joe, look no further than our very own guy--CAST BULLET MACHINE--in the Swappin and Sellin section. I bought 500 .40 cal .402 boolits from him, and the price is right, and they are pretty too.

dudel Powder coating does bump up the size that's why you use an accurate mold which is downsized so the PC will bring it back up without nasty sizing issues. But PC boolit designs don't need lube groves so the longer drive bands really need to be smaller diameter to make sizing possible without a hydraulic press. Another attribute of accurate molds is you can get long versions which can be sent out and converted to hollow point which makes ESPC an even better option. (hollowpointmolds.com) check out the coatings alternative page

Another option would be to change your alloy to have a larger bullet and then lube and shoot as cast.

I use this approach for the 40 and use the Johnson wax/alox mix over a bit of unique. Loading for 5 different 40's and all of them seem to like it. Just a thought...
