I prefer the original. What does everyone else want?

I prefer the modified, but could live with the original. I like the CG placement on the modified version better.

Maybe 45 2.1 will reply with the advantages/differences to the modified version over the original.

I have one from the last GB in a lee 6, I am not sure why, but the boolit flat shoots in all the 30/30's in the stable here. My 1948 336RC absolutely loves this boolit over a stiff charge of 4198 or 3031. Sub moa is not uncommon when my brain/eyes/arms/fingers are in sync. I do know that no woodchuck has a prayer inside 150 yards with this combo, and the one I KILLED recently simply went limp at the shot.....went in one ear and out the other.....the exit hole kind of surprised me...looked like a 22 T-N-T hit him......Hopefully one of these days the wife will put one through a deer in her Pre-73 H&R 158 30-30. IMHO that boolit should not shoot like it does, but sometimes being wrong is a good thing.

If someone does indeed run this as the original and in a single or a twin cav by anybody but lee ........and casting at .3115 to .312
I would have to sort through some lint and find the funds

I am too *)@^%&@* busy to honcho anything more than a burger at mcd's right now.

I'd be in for a 6 cavity Lee in either version.

An overlay of the two for you to look at. The nose on the modified is tapered for a very close fit in the common 30 caliber rifles.

It also appears the modified version will hold nearly twice as much lube.

More a difference of alloy used than any practical difference from one to another.
