Have used Trail Boss in several cartridges the last four or so years. First began using it in a 43 Spanish cartridge 1879 Remington Argentine Rolling Block to lob 370 grain cast bullets downrange. Never used it in a 7.7 Jap, but have in a 30-06 shooting some Berry 150 gr plated bullets. Accuracy was nothing to brag about, but a hoot to shoot. Have used it with jacketed bullets in one of my 30-06 military rifles. Accuracy was decent with jacketed bullets, but could expect my Trail Boss load to hit 10" or so lower on a 100 yd target than a regular powder load. I felt comfortable enough with TB in my 1903 Springfield 30-06 to use it in our ranges monthly military rifle competition a number of times with decent success when we shot at 100 yds. When we shot at 200 yds, I didn't use the TB.

I load up my not so pretty culled bullets with trail boss. In 06, 7.7, 8mm, 54r and so on.

They are fun loads and I use them to blast items at 50 yards....seasonal stuff like watermelons then move into pumpkins when th r weather turns a bit ...large blocks of ice .....
