Lee 44Mag HP Mold Casting uneven

I bought an older single cavity 240 grain HP mold. It is similar in design to Lee's shotgun slug molds. It is used, but not beat up.

When I cast with it, the bullets look like the two halves of the mold are misaligned. This mold has the older style v- groves and no alignment pins.

Is there an easy remedy for this issue?

    Thanks

I'm surprised you haven't had an answer yet so I'll give you my 1/50th of a dollar. I've had pretty good luck with molds that have the V-style grooves by setting the mold on to a flat surface and then closing it. It seems to help keep everything in alignment. Just set it down, close and cast as normal. Works for me. Good luck.

Any problem can be solved with the correct application of explosives.

The 2nd amendment was never intended to allow private citizens to 'keep and bear arms.' If it had, there would have been wording such as 'the right of the People to keep and bear arms shall not be infringed. -Ken Konecki, July 27, 1992
