    Hello All,

I just finished a leather project for my 1895 45-70. I hope you enjoy it. I personally, cannot wait to take into the woods this fall!

Very nice. I made one for a 94 I have, shame it doesn't look like yours.

Very nice! How do you keep it from slipping?

Thanks for the nice comments everyone. Next on the list is a new holster

izzyjoe, I haven't quite yet decided if I'd make these for anyone. I almost developed arthritis doing this one

JSnover, after sinching it down with the lacing it doesn't slide at all. Plus, the lacing rides behind the sling swivel stud. But, for anyone that have a swing swivel stud, you could just glue a piece of thin suede on the back. This would help grip the stock. Others also sew a strap that goes around the back of the butt pad. But, I'm short arm challenged already and have never like those.

Nicely Done, I've never seen a commercial that could hold a candle to it.

Nicely done, too many hours involved to sell commercially but may inspire a few folks to make their own. Is that your design? Seems very well thought-out.

Thanks for comments and nice words.

TXgunNut, yes, way too many hours this was my first one. I designed it from other patterns of oak leaves, while putting my own twist on it. I hate the same ole thing on anything! Gotta be slightly different. Lol.

I guess a matching sling is in order now. I just bought a used leather sewing machine, so I guess I'm hooked.

I used to make 1911 holsters years ago. All hand sewn. That's the biggest pain in leather working. But, it can also be biggest reward and satisfaction.

A truly beautiful thing....have you considered doing this on the side....
