I still haven't seen a box of .22lr in a WalMart in about 4 years now. I've seen it pop up at Bass Pro and my local gun shop. I've been shooting Aguila for years now. I used to get the case from the CMP sales program. I'm finally running low on it. I've been only shooting it in matches since things dried up in 2012. It's about time to try to find some more.

Not a round on the shelves here at the local wally-world. Maybe due to current numbers of folks getting hunting licenses who figure, "long as I'm here...". Plenty of shotgun and centerfire ammo though.

I happened to pass by the ammo case in the Walmart nearest me and they had Federal Auto Match 325rd boxes for $17.82/box, limit 3. I got 3 and my bro got 3, guy behind us got the last 2.

Last month I saw 22LR in a Walmart for the first time in 2 years. While I hesitated, someone literally pushed ahead of me and demanded both boxes. It was Remington 22 Thunderbolt. I know he did me a favor, but I still thought it was rude. I can get Federal at Dick's anytime I want, but there's a 20% price difference over Walmart. I guess that's the "we really have it" difference. If stocked versus unstocked is only 20% different, maybe things are getting better? Unless Hillary wins...
I give loading advice based on my actual results in factory rifles with standard chambers, twist rates and basic accurizing.
My goals for using cast boolits are lots of good, cheap, and reasonably accurate shooting, while avoiding overly tedious loading processes.

Palmetto State has Federal Automatch for $26/325 with free shipping for 4 boxes or more with no limit. So for 8 cents a piece, I ordered 7 boxes. These are for shooting not for "safekeeping."

I was going to say the same thing. Cabelas had the .22 rimfire shelves piled high with all sorts of ammo to choose from last weekend.

I saw about 20 boxes of Winchester super X in my local Walmart today. I was certainly surprised.
They were priced at $9.57 per hundred round box. Still a bit steep on price but at least they were available.

Walked into Walmart this morning before work to get some baby items and stopped at the sporting goods counter to see if they had any .380. The lady working the department said "sorry hon, no .22's today" without me even asking.
    Currently casting and loading: .32 Auto, .380 Auto, .38 Special, 9X19, .357 Magnum, .257 Roberts, 6.5 Creedmoor, .30 WCF, .308 WCF, .45-70.

I visited Grices Gun shop yesterday. They had an entire display of .22's. Some of the brands were CCI SV, Mini Mags, Blazer, Remington buckets, Federal boxes (about $20 for 300).
The shortage has come and gone. All you need to do is open your wallet and buy what you want.

I'm begining to see more and more available, and slightly higher which is to be expected.

Haven't bought any as My stock from way back before this madness even started is more than I need.

I should buy some of the high priced match ammo tho!

I stopped at many different gun shops and stores(Cabelas, Scheels, Bass pro) on the way back from Montana visiting my sister over the last few days. All but one had plenty of 22LR on the shelf at normal prices. Most had 22mag and 17 hmr as well.

Our Walmart had a section of shelf for .22lr. Now there is no spot for any .22lr.

4 Wal-marts in NH last Wednesday 7/24/16. None zero none. Asked and all I got in everyone was a laugh.

I got three more boxes of CCI SV 22LR to day for $11, three box limit at WalMart. They had more .22 LR, .22 Mag and .17 something, I did not look close, don't own one.

Walmart may not be your best "gauge" of 22lr supply and demand. Support your LGS, F Chinah.

My LGS has all you want to buy, but it is not cheap. Dunham's Sports at the mall also has a selection. This is mostly Remington which I will not buy. Our Walmart gets some on occasion.
