So far so good. I did not change my die setting from the setting I had it on for the 311247 standard. When clambering the hollow point does not get deformed at all. It does not get touched on the 10 or so I shot today. I went up 11.5 grains from 10 grains of 1680 and it is still subsonic.I am getting full function with the exception of bolt lock back on last round at 11.5g. This is with the 8.5" barrel. Accuracy is great, and the thump is very impressive on the berm. I will have to work with this some more this week.
Had a bad gas ring. Cleaned and now 10.5 grains I get full function. The front mushrooms and breaks off at 50 yards into a clay berm. Penitration is no more than 8 inches. Looks like this dumps energy fast. Several were sideways or yawed in the clay.
Hmm. Very interesting with the energy being dumped. Must make a pretty effective hp
are you powder coating?
Yes, I powder coat. I had to use high temp paint on the cavity nose to reduce the size for powder coating. I found I also had to modify my spud in the seating die so it would not ring the nose at the ogive.
