    Offf the wall question

Is anyone making H&G style sprue plates to fit other molds? Thicker and grooved I think is better.

I don't know if anyone sells them as aftermarket parts but it's not uncommon to modify them that way.

When ordering a new Accurate mold you can specify.

I make my own sprue plates with 1/4" thick starret o-1 gage stock I perfer the thicker plates and bigger sprue chamfers I get this way. I also vent or cut a trough to the edge of the blocks and between cavities. This allows "over pouring" when I ladle cast. The bigger sprue chamber keeps the base hot longer also. I have also found this thicker spru plate dosnt tnd to float or warp as much.
