A bunch of lead in northern California

    Hey guys,

If you live anywhere near Tracy or northern CA, here’s your opportunity to pick up a bunch of almost pure lead for pennies on the dollar.

Yeah that is pretty neat. But unfortunately, I don't have a truck that can handle that load. It would be great, as it might last a month or two of serious shooting though.

Not sure about shipping but price looks pretty good. Little more than I want to store right now.

Hopefully someone will buy it and make useful bullets out of it.

It topped 90 cents a LB.

At that price it does not look very attractive to me. Everything else, including owning a truck and living close and having a lot of spare change would have to be right. Spot lead price these days (on 45,000 lb loads) is less then that. I don't need 45,000 lbs either

I found that some auction houses use shill bidders to bid up things. So it wouldn't surprise me if it is a shill bidder doing it.

I'm less than an hour away. I registered and was surprised how fast the bids went up. Would be interesting to know who bought it. Wonder if Roto metals or a local commercial caster got it.

Considering it is California. I would not be surprised that whoever buys the stuff will run afoul of all sorts of regulations and permits needed just to transport the stuff somewhere. Plus I would be surprised if there is any business is left in CA that can use the lead anymore.
